It took a while but I think I'm on line now.
Okay, here is my story. I had no problem running up front for 15 minutes or so. Then my braking in turn 7(the only hard braking on the track) started fading. Not a problem. I would let Meg in the Honda pass me on the inside and would hang back for the "bowl". I can go in flat out, gain some momentum and shoot by her coming into the straight. Meg has more track time than I on the Lightening course so I figured I need a lesson. So... I hung back to follow her. Problem was, I was messing around with loose mirrors, checking eratic gauges and not paying attention to the starter stand on the previous lap and didn't see the "one lap" sign being held up. A lot of racers think they are waiting for a waving white flag for final lap. Not true! It's a little card with the number 1 on it. Kate was on the side lines yelling as loud as she could, "Last lap Go For It", but alass, I couldn't hear her.
My wish for Christmass is a radio system. Maybe that will help me keep focused.
